Nathan is a mental health counsellor who has worked with children, adolescence and family’s experiencing a wide variety of challenges with emotion and behaviour. Nathan is trained as a person-centred therapist which draws on humanistic theory and belief that every person has within them the capacity for growth and to realise one’s potential. Within his therapeutic practice Nathan enjoys coming alongside individuals and families in creative ways to see what support is needed and to collaboratively find and explore ways to realise these goals and aspirations.

Nathan was raised on a beef farm in the far north of New Zealand with his parents and three siblings. He has a love for the outdoors, music, art, food and spending time with friends and family. He and his wife, who is an architect, reside in Auckland with their daughter.

Nathan’s previous therapeutic roles have included Ormiston Senior College, Home and Family Counselling, and Safe Network. Within these roles Nathan has supported those struggling with self-esteem, depression, anxiety, social skills, purpose, trauma, self harm, personality disorders, sexual behaviour, relationships, anger and various developmental disorders.

Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor of Health Science (Majoring in Counselling), Auckland University of Technology
- Post graduate Diploma in Arts Therapy, Whitecliffe
