Parenting the ADHD Brain is a six-session series designed to provide you with practical insights and effective strategies to navigate the complexities of ADHD. Imagine having a dedicated space to connect with other parents, share experiences, and gain expert guidance. The series will be running at Totally Psyched, 5 Auburn Street, Takapuna, on Wednesday evenings from 4:00 – 6:00 pm and is scheduled to run from the 15th of October.
Topics covered will include:
- Gaining a deep understanding of what ADHD truly is and how a typical ADHD brain functions.
- Discovering how to adapt your parenting approach for maximum positive impact.
- Unlocking and leveraging the incredible strengths inherent in the ADHD brain.
- Understanding and supporting emotional regulation for your child and yourself.
- Practical strategies for enhancing executive functioning skills at home.
- Effective tools to manage impulsivity and foster better attentional control.
- Navigating homework battles and school challenges with confidence.
- Transforming problem behaviours with neurodiversity-affirming approaches.
We encourage both parents to attend the in-person workshop, if possible, and offer a discounted fee for the second parent. Each first parent is registered at a cost of $695, while the second parent is registered at $347.5. The webinar version can be purchased session-by-session, or as a whole package for $395.
