Emotional and Behavioural Support

Some children and teens experience big emotions or behaviours that are hard to manage at home, at school, or socially - meltdowns, aggression, defiance, difficulty following instructions, or trouble regulating when things don't go their way.

Who this is for

We work with children and teens whose emotional or behavioural regulation is causing significant stress for them or their whānau, whether or not there's an existing diagnosis behind it.

What to expect

We start by understanding what's driving the behaviour - including any underlying anxiety, ADHD, autism, or other factors - before building practical, individualised strategies for emotional regulation, communication, and behaviour, often drawing on Behavioural Therapy approaches. We regularly work alongside parents, schools and other supports to make sure strategies are consistent across environments.

This support can stand alone or sit alongside individual therapy, Family Therapy, or Parent Support, depending on what the family needs.
